Overview:
Watch My Home controls one SPECIFIC hardware configuration: A single-partition Honeywell Vista alarm system with an EnvisaLink 3 or 4 security module.
Features:
- Customize zone descriptions to match your alarm.

- Send commands to your alarm with a single touch.
- Pull to refresh status updates.

Pro Features:
Rather than having separate free/paid versions, Watch My Home is a single app with all core features available in the 'free' version. Pro features are available as an upgrade.
- Finally, the feature I've wanted to implement since I began development, the ability to watch your alarm for state changes as a background service! Want to know if someone entered while you're away? Now you can, and it works whether the alarm is armed or not. You'll get a custom notification every time a zone opens.
- Auto-refresh for the alarm status screen. Refresh interval is configurable in settings.
- eMail messages sent to one/more recipients for background alarm state changes.
Installation:
EnvisaLink communications are NOT encrypted. Once the board is installed, you are responsible for keeping others from snooping. If your network includes WiFi, start here:
- Enable encryption on your wifi access point.
- Turn off SSID broadcasting and disable guest networks.
Watch My Home is fully functional "locally". Port forwarding is your decision and is not required. But if you decide to do so, here are some general guidelines:
- When using an open/public WiFi hotspot, always connect using a VPN (for example, host an OpenVPN server at home, it's free and effective).
- Your cable/dsl and carrier data connections are relatively secure as-is. The NSA can see your packets, but your neighbors cannot.

I created this app for my own use and will to continue to provide updates, including new features. I am sharing it with the android community because I was dissatisfied with existing alternatives.
